Alexandra Wallace in "Asians in the Library: UCLA Girl's Racist Rant" video

Hello fair AMWW Magazine readers, it’s huggable Heather with a timely article about a recent, sadly racist, event.

Yesterday, I was given a link to a Youtube video called “Asians in the Library – UCLA Girl going wild on Asians”. Upon reading the title, however, I exited out of it. I told my friend I would not watch it because I knew I would just get angry. Eventually, though, my curiosity got the better of me and I just had to look.

You bet your sweet ass I was offended.

My first impression was lackluster at best. The way she, Alexandra Wallace (aka UCLA Girl) looked, the way she moved – nothing about her told me I should take her seriously, the words that come out of that Barbie-doll mouth notwithstanding.

Everything about her seemed as fake as her hair extensions.

Of course, then she started talking…and the only way for me to critique her “work” is to break it down, piece by piece.

“So we know that I’m not the most politically correct person so don’t take this offensively. I don’t mean it toward any of my friends I mean it toward random people that I don’t even know in the library. So, you guys are not the problem.”

Oh, of course…the “disclaimer.” You know, you had to watch this part where she tried her hardest to cover her ass in case she gets a shitstorm of negativity from it. I had a teacher from the South once who explained to me that you could make fun of someone you liked, be it your mother, father, or dying grandmother, so long as you said “bless their heart” right before it.

“And that Camilla girl, bless her heart, but she needs to learn to take a shower every once in a while!”

Translation: I love her so I wouldn’t viciously make fun of her body odor…I mean well.

“I’m not politically correct so don’t get offended…I don’t mean this toward my friends…”

Translation: Excuse what I say because I’m not saying it to hurt my friends (we’re still up for Brad’s party later, right?) and I’m not trying to coddle any of you so don’t be hatin’!

I’m sorry, but that disclaimer excuses nothing, especially not your blatant racism that’s about to ensue.

“The problem is these hordes of Asian people that UCLA accepts into our school every single year, which is fine. But if you’re going to come to UCLA then use American manners.”

Alexandra Wallace (UCLA Girl) in her Model Mayhem profile pic

Oh, I’m sorry these people don’t look like you, have the same natural hair color as you, and have the same ignorant opinions as you; I’m sorry these “hordes” are invading “your” school. Must be hard for you, going to school and going about your daily life with these “hordes” of Asians running around, trying to do the exact same thing you do.

Tsk tsk…is there anything these Asians HAVEN’T done to exacerbate your problems? And WHERE are their American manners? How dare they not look like you yet demand to be called American!

That’s just…well, actually, that’s just AMERICAN of them. I’m assuming there’s a fairly good mixture within these “hordes” of those born here and those born overseas. Regardless, both are American; yes, even the ones who immigrated here. They came here for a better life, like many of our ancestors – to be perfectly honest, the immigrants (Asian or not) are the true emblems of the American image; working hard to contribute to their families, their communities, and their new country.

“…I’ll be in like deep into my studying, into my political science theories and arguments and all that stuff, getting it all down, like typing away furiously, blah blah, blah, and then all of a sudden when I’m about to like reach an epiphany…”

…excuse me for fifteen minutes, I’m about to laugh my ass off at the thought of this girl having any sort of epiphany.

“…overhear from somewhere, “Ooooh Ching Chong Ling Long Ting Tong, Ooohhhhh.”

…if I have to explain to anyone why this may be considered offensive, I will never regain my faith in humanity. Of course, though, I can’t just leave it like that, sooooo…it’s offensive because you’ve basically just undermined them as a person.

Is that all they are to you? Just “Asian?”

Even your so-called “friends” don’t appreciate that. If you can’t look at an Asian without having stereotypical garbage-Mandarin run through your head, you are stereotyping an entire race of people – it would be like someone thinking of the stereotype that all blonde White girls are racist after viewing your video.

By the way, thanks for that. You just set ALL THE WORK I’VE EVER DONE back about twenty paces. I’m tempted to dye my hair brown so I don’t get lumped into the same category as you.

“…being the polite, nice American girl that my momma raised me to be…”

Sweetheart, I’m sure we have the same kind of “homegrown American momma.” If I ever said anything like this anywhere, my mother would slap the racism off my face faster than I could make a crappy vlog about it.

The thing is, my mom instilled in me something more American than your supposed “manners:” she taught me compassion for other people, tolerance toward those different than me, and the humility to know that, in the end, I’m no better than anyone else. It’s a shame your momma never got around to it.

“I swear they’re going through their whole families, just checking on everybody from the tsunami thing.”

Please change your major. You fail at political science…and human decency, for that matter.

“…even if you’re not Asian you really shouldn’t be on your cell phone in the library but I’ve just never seen that happen before so thank you for listening and have a nice day.”

It’s a shame we don’t go to the same school. Depending on who calls me, I ramble on in broken Mandarin/German/Spanish on a regular basis on my phone, and have, on occasion, done so in the library. But this girl has given me a lot of insight.

Firstly, how Asian/Asian-American racism is alive and well in the minds of our youth. I thought we were getting past this, but it seems there is a long road ahead of us.

Secondly, the impact her video has had on the internet. I didn’t realize she had already taken it down – I watched someone’s bootleg of it. I copied a pre-written transcript and I read many of the posts on the UCLA’s chancellor’s page. This has caused quite a commotion, to say the least. There are even remixed song versions of Asians in the Library – UCLA Girl going wild on Asians!

Heather: "Asian Boys are Better!"

Heather: "Asian Boys are Better!"

Lastly, I became saddened by fellow White people who just don’t “get it.”

Too many times I’ve seen the comment “lighten up, it’s just a joke” and “I don’t see why everyone’s so mad.”

Of course you don’t – you’re White (and so am I for that matter).

  • You will never be hurtfully discriminated against for your race in your home country a day in your life.
  • You will never know what it feels like to be told to go home early from a sleepover because you’re the “Asian one out.”
  • You’ll never know what it feels like to be lynched because you’re “too Black for my liking.”
  • You’ll never be told that you’re “stealing honest Americans’ jobs.”
  • You’ll never know what it feels like to go through school and learn, historically, that people of your race were treated horrendously in your textbooks.

To those people, I say, simply, that you are no better than her.

Rumor has it she’s been expelled for her video. Even though she’s not in school anymore, I have some homework for her: open your eyes to the hurt you’ve caused to Asian-Americans – your fellow Americans.

Maybe then you’ll find your “manners” to be seriously lacking.

I don’t get how “white people” says that they are “American” and immigrated Asian or Mexican or whatever are not. Perhaps they can’t remember that their ancestors themselves are immigrants, too, else that “nice American girl” would have red skin instead of white…

I love LOVE love this piece you wrote! Thank you so much, finally a decent point of view from a white American! THANK YOU for being angry for us. THANK YOU for pointing out things that Asians have to face that white Americans will never have to go through. And THANK YOU, for being a great role model for what Americans should really be. God Bless you!

And making a joke out of a horrible natural disaster that killed a lot of people, while at the same time reducing entire races of people to sub-human status. I am sorry, what was your point?

Ah, talking on the phone in the library? So only Asians do that? How MARVELOUS.

Well Heather if it makes you feel better seeing this site’s youtube channel and your profile picture on the article made me think you were a redhead :p.

On a more serious note though, I won’t belabor the points you already went over with the hypocrisy and racism. however, i will say that it’s just a reminder of how much of it there is still left beneath the surface. much of it is coded much more subtly than this genius did in her video.

Excuse me? “You’ll never know what it feels like to go through school and learn, historically, that people of your race were treated horrendously in your textbooks.”

Just because I’m white doesn’t mean that my race hasn’t been discriminated against. Go back and research some of the terrible hateful things that were said and done toward the Irish if you don’t believe me.

It’s just embarrassing how upset people are getting over one dumb girl’s opinion. She fucked up and made herself look bad. What she said isn’t true, it’s not something that everyone’s going to start acting on unless smart asses start going to the library and getting on their phones to “protest” her video. She’s just a dumb girl who said a dumb thing. Real discrimination occurs every day, people should be focusing their efforts on responding to the awful things that are actually happening to people.

I’m sorry, last time I checked, Irish wasn’t a race?

Hey, I learn about how Mormons were treated. As a Mormon, I love hearing about how our villages and settlements were burned, pillaged, how our men were tarred and feathered and how it was legal to kill a Mormon on sight.

Of course, Mormonism ISN’T a race.

Neither is IRISH.

Whites were discriminating against OTHER WHITES at that point.

It’s so not the same.

How very “convenient” for Pixiechick that her red-headed ancestors did all the suffering for her. What right does she have to ‘claim’ that suffering, when she isn’t an Irishwoman from the 1860s?’

Thanks to the suffering of her ancestors – but mostly due to the passage of time and the shifting definitions of ‘race’ – she no longer has to bear the stigma of being Irish in an Anglo world, because that ignominious title of ‘American Pinata’ title is now held by the Mexicans and Asians.

Talk about speaking from a privileged position, and claiming the suffering of her ancestors. Yes, the “Irish”, insofar as they were a marginalized and persecuted minority, DID suffer badly – but she doesn’t live in the 19th century anymore. In the 21st Century, Irish people are afforded EVERY BIT OF WHITE PRIVILEGE as Anglo-Saxon types.

Or as the common thinking goes: “White is white. Then there’s the rest.”

True, but she made us look bad too. My “Momma” always said, if you can’t say something nice…. you get the idea.

I would even be okay with it if there was some kind of point, constructive value….something to actually talk about and try to come to common ground. But this is just ignorance. If she didn’t want people to see she should not have posted it.

there are a few issues underneath this amusing rant. people seem too fixated on the “ching chong…” stuff that any asian growing up here has heard since first grade. what is more important is that this reminds us that asians are still thought of as one ubiquitous group of foreign aliens that simply do not understand how america operates. i’m not mad at this girl, and i’m realy not even offended, because it’s a feeling i’ve seen expressed many times before and know that change will be slow in coming to.

you have a point with racism towards the irish, but that was not discrimination against white people. that was a show of power struggle towards a group that looks talks and acts different. racism does not have to be about skin color. look at the tutsis and hutus during the Rwanda massacres, or the japanese and chinese during WWII. you cannot use discrimination against the irish as an example of any “reverse racism” because any immigrant group will be thought of as a minority.

Thank you! I’m not American but I am white and nothing bothers me more than to have to listen to someone who “represents” me being so ignorant I want to cry. Thank God they have not had to deal with the terror of a natural disaster while some selfish and ignorant person made fun of them for it! I live in Vancouver Canada, the “Gateway to the Pacific Rim” and could not imagin my city without the positive contribution of not just the Asian immigrants but of all the people who have come here, shared their story, history, wisdom and thoughts.

May be she is mad because a white guy she is interested in is dating an Asian woman. Or may be she is mad that Serene Branson is getting all the publicity and she wanted some of it! Her attitude is not surprising. Alas, white American women who are interested in Asian men or Asians in general are few and far between and pretty much limted to this board and the board called Speaking of China! In Singapore! I have known white women who spewed the same attitude and this is in an Asian majority country…they will use racist terms to describe the Asian gfs of their white co-workers. Most white women simply dislike Asians, and that is the truth..and this is also true of many living in Asia!

LOL!

I didn’t watch the whole thing (A Blondie Barbie Doll Getting At UCLA Asians), as it was too over-the-top for me to sit through the whole thing, but I’d say let it slip.

It wasn’t done tactfully, wasn’t appropriate, but she has made her point and showed her true character.

Probably around 50% – 80% “white” Americans aren’t all that too fond of Asians, or any other non-white people for that matter, and Ms. Wallace happens to be one of them. Just a fact of the human condition at the present moment.

It’s a little sad that came out of a political science major, but Barbie Dolls do get attentions and breaks, and that’s life. She’s got her moment and share of fame. That’s what she is and she’ll never change: why take it so seriously?

Obviously, the Asian-Americans/Asians need to keep up the work. Getting attention in natural disasters, a nuclear plant gone bad and going worse, and being a receptor of a vitriol is never a good or satisfactory thing. You want to be pro-active, not passive. Then again, maybe I’m having my hope on that a little too high. 🙂

I think that in order to understand people better and deal with people and have good happy relations with one another, more people should get offline and deal with one another face to face. Some of these comments are confusing contradictory, and don’t even make any sense. I don’t even know whether or not the comment is supposed to be negative or positive, or whether or not the person making the comment is really who they say they are or a troll. Perhaps when people like the UCLA girl sees that Asians are not bad people in REAL LIFE, and not on a MESSAGE BOARD by dealing with REAL-LIFE ASIANS WHO BREAK NEGATIVE STEREOTYPES, Asians can break other people’s negative opinions and stereotypes of them and change people’s opiniuons of them and live better and have more peaceful interracial relations with people of other races. Besides, without seeing a face and talking to a person, it’s really not HUMAN CONTACT, but just endless reading of books of posts. I’d really like to show that UCLA senior that we Asians are not really a bad race, and that we have a lot to offer despite our faults by dealing with her and becoming friends with her and making peace with her despite her dislike of Asians.

As an asian born in asia, i don’t 100% disagree with her, but she was just going too far. Surprisingly, I didn’t quite offended very much. But It just struck me that there are still some people out there especially in L.A. where people from different counties live in having this kind of thought. She just didnt think it through. Pretty dumb move

“Probably around 50% – 80% “white” Americans aren’t all that too fond of Asians, or any other non-white people for that matter, and Ms. Wallace happens to be one of them. Just a fact of the human condition at the present moment.”

Probably you are on the ballpark, but regarding AMWW, there are close to 150 million single white females in the world looking for love..of these only 1-2% will ever date Asian men and perhaps 5% outside their race, pretty much a sample of these folks you will find on this board or Speaking of China website! One of the lowest for any race or gender in the world! 70 million wont date outside their ethnicity, eg. Polish, Croatian, etc. Another 75 million will marry anyone of the white color…these are the 75 million who base their preference on skin color you can truly call racists…others are trying to preserve their culture!

“It’s a little sad that came out of a political science major, but Barbie Dolls do get attentions and breaks, and that’s life. She’s got her moment and share of fame. That’s what she is and she’ll never change: why take it so seriously?”

It is scary…not just because she is a Political Science major…there was once a Korean American who was always ranting against society at Virginia Tech…everybody laughed him off…until he went on a shooting spree nearly four years ago killing a lot of students on campus!

“Obviously, the Asian-Americans/Asians need to keep up the work. Getting attention in natural disasters, a nuclear plant gone bad and going worse, and being a receptor of a vitriol is never a good or satisfactory thing. You want to be pro-active, not passive. Then again, maybe I’m having my hope on that a little too high. 🙂 ”

If the economic boom in China and Singapore and other Asian countries where white people flock to work, does not convince white people that Asians are for real, nothing will and they will continue to remain what they are, racists…they will not change! So, yes, your hope is running not just little but very high indeed!

What the hell is this? A troll? You need to either: 1. Boost your I.Q. 2. Learn to really read. 3. Get your facts straight. 4. Improve your logical reasoning. 5. Do all four above.

I highly recommend the option 5.

About the percentage of the single white females wanting to date outside of her race or ethnicity, or whatever. I can hardly agree that number is accurate, but kudos to you for asking out 150 million single white women as a non-white man and getting rejected by 95-99% of them. It must’ve been hundreds of thousand rejections everyday, and I pay my respect on you. You must be a real man to handle and suck up that many rejections a day and go out the next day to get that many more once again.

That Korean-American douchebag, or trash, doesn’t even deserve the tag “American” in his identity. He was a total sociopath and scumbag that “did not talk to anyone, had zero friends” until he resorted to an f’ed up shooting rampage–an import gone wrong. Get your facts straight. I don’t know what the hell goes on in your head, but comparing an Asian turd to a maladroit American blonde just doesn’t add up to me. Get your facts straight. I simply expected a political science major to have a bit more tact than that.

“So, yes, your hope is running not just little but very high indeed!”: Learn to read sarcasm, genius! What a surprise! I wasn’t having any hope at all! I was expressing my tough love on the Asians! What does the “white people flocking to work there” have anything to do with this? I was referring to the innate Asian temperament, which skew toward being passive and meek, rather than being aggressive and pioneering. Every problem, every shortcoming one has, is more or less in himself: if you have a problem in your life, you’re the source of the problem–don’t look elsewhere.

Geez.

Take your pessimism and myopia elsewhere. That would be most appreciated.

Also, there’s something called “Reply Button” on here. Use it when you reply to someone else’s comment instead of posting it as a new thread.

Despite what you say, Asian Men are starting more and more relationships with White Women and with other races of women anyway OFFLINE and in REAL LIFE ON THE STREET no matter what you say, so they can just ignore the negative things that people say on the Internet, learn good things and tips that benefit them from the Internet, discard the rest, GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND WORK IN REAL LIFE ON THE STREET TO GET WHAT THEY WANT, and just go for it. I don’t need to know the odds, I can overcome the odds anyway.

Just mess up the Internet anyway. Just SENSELESS TALK, NOT ACTION. All contradictions and just arguing. On the Internet, you never know who the person really is posting behind the screenname anyway. You never know whether or not they are for you or against you, or if what they say is genuine, and with so many contradictions in their nmessgae both strengthening you or weakening you, you never know what they are really trying to say or whether their gosl for you is harmful or beneficial. Take what they with a grain of salt, and be careful that you do not read and believe what harms you.

Alexandra Wallace showed us how she thought of a good manner American girl should be. And she is proud of being raised by her momma like this POLITE and NICE girl. And also she thought the only kind of students should be accepted by UCLA should be exactly as her stereotype – White. Those American born Asians suppose not to be one of them. And she believes her manner of racism is much better than talking on cell phone in the library, where we’ve actually seen all kinds of people do. Well I will like to say, if you choose to do stupid things like this, it is fine but don’t be even more stupid to put it on line with your face shown clearly.
Death threats? Well, this is a free” action” country and you can do whatever you want but remember other even worse person could do whatever they want to do as well. You don’t think you deserve those stupid scary threats I agree but Asians do not think they deserve what you tried to make fun of either. That is how hatreds grow between people. It is sad that people treat hatreds with hatreds but it is actually what happened in this stupid world. So, in this crazy stupid world, if you want to act stupid too, then make it to yourself and don’t public it.
Treating Asians as hordes of other stereotypes alienated from YOUR GROUP, laughing at Asian culture, generalizing cellphone talkers only to Asians, mocking their accent, showing no sympathy on people died in Tsunami, thinking of this is nothing but only for showing a sense of humor, OFFERing your insincere Apologies from a high position… OMG, silly girl, you’ve made some many mistakes in this issue and it is very hard that it won’t haunt you for life, since there are Asians all over the states.
Now, how you treated others led you in the same way of being treated. Today, you are the only horde of being generated as racist. You are the only one who has been mocked, cursed or made fun of by many other people on Youtube (if you still dare to search on Youtube you will see millions of those). You are the only one who receives no sympathy from nobody on your bad situation. And you are the only one who suffers from many “Humorous” videos and comments on line, and you are the only one who receives even no apologies from all the curses and harassments. Now, tell me how you feel all of this? Do you still believe those people did it only for a sense of Humor and because of the free speech policy, they supposed to do that? I hope you’ve learned but from your insincere apologies it does not look like. Anyone who has a little sense of sensibility and responsibility won’t post such stupid video on line even though they might have already made it. The problem is: the aftermath still goes on when you move to other universities because there are still hordes of Asians out there…Too bad…Just like you broke a Glass cup, it is so hard to undo and repair.
Oh, one suggestion, you may consider change your name to Ching Chang, tan your white skin to yellow, change your hair color to black and wear black contacts learn how to speak Asian language. If you do all those, nobody will be able to recognize you. Then you will feel Wow it is so great to be an Asian now!!! Thanks God, I am finally safe and free from this stupid thing! Ha ha ha.

As a side note, (as someone implied it was racist that a majority of white women only want to date white men) a woman who only wants to date white men is no different than women like me who are only interested in dating Asian men. I have a white female friend who really only likes black guys…sometimes there are certain features we find attractive.. and I know I can’t get enough of George’s eyes.. oh god.. so beautiful.. lol.

Well, I thought the video was more ridiculous rather than racist, but was I (an Asian man) offended? Not entirely. I do respect the freedom to speak openly about anything. HOWEVER, I believe that people should use this freedom of speech in a constructive manner, which this girl clearly failed to do.

On another note, come on guys… just give her a break. I think she’s taken enough bashing from a lot of people. Racism is one thing but ganging up on somebody is another. Let’s not be bullies and just sit down and express our feelings with “composure.”

I only say this out of love for my Asians. Japan was hit by a earthquake and during the aftermath there was no uproar, no fighting over who gets more of the free soup, and theft rarely occurred. Order was maintained. If Japan can take the earthquake, then we Asian Americans can definitely take a silly little video vlogged by a child.

Im considered “white” but inactuality my parents moved from Russia and i have an accent thats easily recognizable. ive lived in America my whole life but ive faced discriminations of people saying im going to blow up the white house or i have nukes in my purse or im a “commie”. My grandparents were extremely poor and my great grandfather was killed in Stalin’s Purges. I just think before u go around saying that white people dont understand anything, u should consider the different ethnicites and not skin color. Just as theres many “kinds” of asian (chinese, japanese, filipino) there is just so with “whites”.
however dont think im defending this girl. she is just a ditz who was never told “no thts not polite/right” as a child. the fact she describes her studying with “blah, blah, blah” seriously slashes any shred of credibility she mightve had.

They shouldn’t underestimate Asians. Lots of Asians are talented and smart. That girl should learn good manners. I really hate racists.

OMG hordes of WHITE people! JK
I’m a Chinese American but I do agree with her that hearing FOB Chinese or Korean students talking LOUDLY is VERY annoying. It’s a library, please be quiet.

You guys see Alexandra Wallace’s (racist UCLA girl)  bikini contest entry?  Look Swimwear  hilariously singled her out added the text above her bikini entry. “Any views or opinions expressed by Alexandra Wallace are solely those of Alexandra Wallace and do not represent those of Look Swimwear LLC. and LookSwimwear.com”

Awesome…….

heather, i feel so touched that you wrote this article. you have just restored my confidence in fact that politically aware white women exist. so i’m exaggerating, actually, i live in california- there are lots of white folks with awesome race politics. still, one question in my mind is whether i can ever feel the same sense of home and understanding with white women that i feel with women of my same cultural background (asian). and this is important b/c i find white women totally hot and feel the chemistry (admittedly, more so physically, than with my own peoples), but there’s often that other piece missing.. i wonder if i will always have to explain myself, if they can truly understand my experience as an asian american living in the  U.S..  you are type of white woman i’m looking for. thank u!

Heather, I’m so used to rude, ignorant people that I ignore them, and the video just didn’t bother me at all.  To me it’s just a lot of noise.  But thanks for the support.  I love ya 🙂

If it was me, I wouldn’t display Alexandra Wallace’s picture on this site.  It just gives her the attention and exposure that she’s looking for.  It’s better to ignore her.

You will never be hurtfully discriminated against for your race in your home country a day in your life.

Sorry. I have to call bullshit on that one. I grew up in a primarily black/mexican/asian neighborhood. I was one of maybe 20 white kids at my school. I constantly faced racism because of my skin color. So yes, I have been hurtfully discriminated against for my race in my home country.

Just because we’re white doesn’t mean we don’t face racism.

You know, as an asian guy, i’m not all that offended by this girls actions.

I don’t necessarily think it’s racist, it’s ignorant, but not racist. I don’t feel like her actions were done maliciously, I think she just did it because she wasn’t thinking (or never does).

There’s a big difference between being a hateful person and just being plain dumb, I believe she falls in the latter category.

The video just another example of someone who doesn’t know how to use people skill to discuss a personal annoyance etc. She should have expressed herself in a different way, yes, but she wasn’t being racist, like a PP said earlier, she’s ignorant and stupid. She was talking about one group of people who happened to be Asian and disrupting the quiet in a school library. And if UCLA is anything like my local University, most of the Asians are only there for school, otherwise they’d be yammering on in English like the ones who live here, try using that Chinese you learned when almost no Chinese people within a 200mi range speak Chinese!
Like you haven’t told a bunch of people to shut up, or from your library confession above – been told to shut up yourself, for talking in the library?

As for your “I apologise for my white people” speech.

Maybe you grew up in a white majority place, but many of us didn’t as PP’s have stated. So maybe YOU don’t understand racism, but some of us do know it personally, because OUR skin is different and we’re not “well-off” like you and this ignorant Silicon-Valley chick.
I can argue this point even more because my skin is two-colors, literally, throw that in with fat and you have an arsenal against you for your entire life from white people and all of your so-called “minorities” (not minorities where I’m from) all at once.

I do agree with your list of things involving foreigners to a point, but that’s a geographical thing too.
People from border-towns and people from bay cities are going to be pissed off about different races or nationalities coming in (usually because they aren’t doing it the right way). I’ve noticed the bay city thing is usually people being brought by others of their own race for things like sex trade/human trafficking, not their choice to be here – less chance of people really complaining, thanks to TV for the most part. Whilst people in the south just ignore the laws personally because it’s easier than waiting in line with the other million people for a visa (and these ones are pissing off mainly the people who did come the legal way).

Overall your article is good, but more research needs to be done on American minority/majority bashing of ALL 颜色

I am the guy who re-uploaded that video and keep it there for 5 months before Youtube finally killed it. And throughout the comments and messages bombarded in my mailbox, I can confirm that most of the Asians are offended by this and many Americans of various other races are still very ignorant about Asians in US.
